Colombia provides air navigation services in the overflights carried out along the air routes over the FIR (Flight Information Region) / UIR (Upper Information Region) BOGOTA (SKBO) and/or the BARRANQUILLA’s FIR (SKBQ) within the control limits set by ICAO and which are published in the AIP of Colombia.
If your airline is going to fly over Colombian territory, what you will need first is to process your overflight permit. For this, you can count on the services of our company.
YOU MUST PROVIDE:
– Name of the Airline
– Commercial Name
– ICAO code
– Type of Operation if it is regular or charter
– List of the tail (s) to operate each with its type of aircraft and the MTOW in Kilos,
– The route to be operated with its ICAO codes round trip if necessary.
– The date or range of dates on which you are scheduled to fly over. The approval period can be a minimum of one day and a maximum of a little less than three months
FOR INSTANCE:
Name of the Airline : Regional Executive Service Airline C.A.
Commercial Name : Laser

Tail : YV2945 – MD82 – 67,275 Kilos

Now, once the permit is obtained and the aircraft flies over, the Colombian Aeronautical Authority will issue an invoice in US dollars (USD) whose calculation is made with the following formula:
Vs = Factor year 2021 by The Square Root of the PBMO in Tons by D
Vs : Overflight Value
FACTOR YEAR 2021 : 0.03871
PBMO : Maximum Gross Operating Weight in Tons
D : Distance traveled in KM
Between Entry point A and Exit point B
FOR INSTANCE:
Airline : Aeropostal
Type of Aircraft : MD82
Year factor 2021 : 0.03871
PBMO in Tons : 67.5
Airplane Route : MUCU – SVMI
Entry point A : EDRD
Exit Point B : URIBI
Distance in KM between Points : 417 Km
Square Root of 67.5: 8.2158
Vs = Factor x Square Root of PBMO in Tons x Distance in Km
Vs = 0.03871 x 8.2158 x 417
Vs = 132.62
Vs = USD $ 133.
That is the amount that you will have to pay to the Colombian Civil Aeronautics if it invoices you directly.
We hope that this information has been useful to you and that we can serve you in the very near future. ¡HAPPY OVERFLIGHT!
